IN BETWEEN TWO CANALS
Saying Amsterdam has a lot to offer as a city trip, is stating the obvious. Beautiful museums filled with art from famous master-painters, nice shopping streets and terraces full of Amsterdammers, tourists and other strange people. And most of all: the canals.
If you want to spend day and night in this setting, you can set camp in the middle of two canals, at Hotel Pulitzer. Right behind the entrance on the Prinsengracht, you’ll find this fabulous hotel comprised of a block of 25 historical canal houses from the 17th and 18th century.
If you want to get a drink before you reside to your room, you’ll have to walk through beautiful little gardens to reach the bar at the Keizersgracht. You’ll find the cozy restaurant of Hotel Pulitzer right beside it.
Beware of tourist cameras flashing from the early canal boats passing by when you open the curtains in the morning. Just smile and make sure you wear your pajamas.
Enjoy a nice breakfast in the morning sun and hop into the city. Leave the Pulitzer and you’ll find yourself in the middle of the 9 Straatjes. 9 streets filled with authentic clothing stores, local specialty stores, custom made shoe stores, vintage stores, coffee bars, terraces, etc.
This city will not bore you easily. And if you’re getting tired, you’ll easily find your way back to the Hotel. Where there are plenty little spots to get back on your feet again.
